Big Spring, Texas, is investing in infrastructure and land to prepare for future business development.

The Crossroads Business Park project is opening more than 550 acres for business development, with another 2,000 acres included in the long-term master plan. More Than 550 Acres in the First Phase

The first phase of Crossroads Business Park encompasses approximately 550 acres.

Infrastructure work began with a $5.6 million project intended to open the property for business development. The groundbreaking site was identified as Frazier Road, east of Highway 87 near the future intersection with Interstate 27.

The master plan goes considerably further.

Big Spring's official release states that an additional 2,000 acres are included in the master plan as the community looks to take advantage of development associated with the Ports-to-Plains initiative.

That gives Crossroads Business Park both a defined initial development area and documented plans for substantially more acreage.

Federal investment has also supported infrastructure at Crossroads Business Park.

In 2022, the U.S. Economic Development Administration awarded the City of Big Spring a $3.3 million grant for water and wastewater infrastructure improvements at the park. The federal grant was matched with $813,200 in local funds.

That federal announcement specifically identified the infrastructure as supporting future commercial and industrial business development.

Connected to Future Interstate 27 and Ports-to-Plains

Location is a central component of the Crossroads Business Park project.

Big Spring's official announcement describes Crossroads as the first business park in the region directly tied to development of I-27 and the Ports-to-Plains initiative.
