Where Technology Meets Nature: Henderson’s SmartFlower Garden Debuts

Henderson Blooms Into the Future with SmartFlower Garden at Innovation Park

Henderson, TX – On a bright and hopeful afternoon, Henderson marked a pivotal milestone in its journey toward innovation and sustainability with the unveiling of the SmartFlower Garden at Henderson Innovation Park. The event, attended by community leaders, partners, and distinguished guests, symbolized Henderson’s bold step into a cleaner, smarter energy future—positioning the city as a renewable energy leader in East Texas.

A Garden of Technology and Design

The new SmartFlower Garden features five state-of-the-art SmartFlowers strategically placed within the Innovation Park. Unlike traditional solar panels, SmartFlowers combine advanced solar technology with artistic design, following the sun’s path throughout the day to capture maximum energy. This unique approach produces up to 40% more electricity than standard fixed solar systems.

Celebrated at iconic institutions like Volkswagen, Adidas, and Toyota, the SmartFlower has become a global emblem of high-efficiency renewable energy. Now, Henderson Innovation Park proudly joins that distinguished list.

Inspiring Words from Industry Leaders

During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Mark Conroy, President of SmartFlower, commended Henderson’s forward-thinking vision:

“We are truly honored that the City of Henderson has selected SmartFlower as a partner in its visionary approach to community-centered growth and sustainability. Henderson’s commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship sets an inspiring example for other communities across the region.”

A Park Designed for Innovation

Spanning 300 acres, Henderson Innovation Park was designed to be more than a business hub—it’s a thriving ecosystem. With features such as expansive green spaces, sidewalks, a scenic lake, and robust infrastructure (water, sewer, storm drains, electricity, natural gas, and fiber optic connectivity), the park offers the tools and environment businesses need to innovate, expand, and succeed.

Now, with the addition of on-site renewable energy, Henderson Innovation Park has become the only business park in East Texas with SmartFlower technology, setting it apart as a true regional leader in sustainable development.

A Shared Vision for Tomorrow’s Texas

The unveiling was more than just a ribbon-cutting—it was a declaration of Henderson’s commitment to a prosperous, sustainable future.

Bret Gardella, Executive Director of Henderson EDC, emphasized the importance of this milestone:

“This is Henderson Texas Economic Development Corporation’s commitment to being Tomorrow’s Texas and building a sustainable future.”

Community leaders echoed this sentiment, with Mayor Henry Pace, Rusk County Judge Joel Hale, and other city and county officials in attendance, showcasing the deep community-wide support for Henderson’s bold initiatives.

Looking Ahead

With the SmartFlowers now in full bloom, Henderson has taken a confident step forward in shaping a future that blends economic opportunity with environmental responsibility. And this is only the beginning—more smart, sustainable projects are on the horizon, further solidifying Henderson as a beacon of innovation in East Texas.
