From Dairy to Dominance: Saputo's Sulphur Springs Plant Named Top Performer

From Dairy to Dominance: Saputo's Sulphur Springs Plant Named Top Performer

At the heart of Sulphur Springs, Texas, something special is happening—and it’s not just the award-winning dairy products. It’s the people. The team. The culture. And now, the recognition.

Saputo’s Sulphur Springs facility was recently honored as a Top Performing Plant for the company's most recent fiscal year. In a company as large and respected as Saputo, that's no small feat. This recognition reflects what we've known all along: Sulphur Springs isn't just a great place to do business—it's a community that shows up, puts in the work, and delivers. At a recent company gathering, Plant Manager Joe Wallace accepted the award from Saputo USA President and COO Dominic Bombino and Senior Vice President Terry Brockman. Wallace, standing proudly with his team behind him, said it best:

“The team at the Sulphur Springs facility works hard every day to exceed our customers’ expectations. I’m excited that the company recognizes our team’s passion and dedication.”

That dedication is more than just words on a poster in the breakroom. It’s showing up early. Solving problems on the fly. Maintaining safety, quality, and consistency—day in and day out. And now, it’s about celebrating together. Later this month, the team will host a carnival-style event—complete with food trucks, games, prizes, and more. Because when your people do world-class work, you celebrate them in a world-class way.

At Gone to Texas, we love stories like this. Because this isn’t just about Saputo. It’s about Sulphur Springs. It’s about Hockley County. It’s about the Upper East Texas region—where companies find more than workforce and logistics. They find grit. They find loyalty. They find community.

If you're a CEO, site selector, or business owner looking for a place to plant your flag, let this be a sign.
